With regards to what diet you choose to follow is completely yours. All I can comment on is what I have learnt myself over the years and from experience. I have tried both Weight Watchers and Slimming World on numerous occasions. I lost weight in the first 2-3 weeks then it always went tits up. I think the problem with these for me is that they don’t stop you eating everyday food.
As someone who is in remission of type 2 diabetes eating a lot of carbs etc is not a good idea and should, in fact, be avoided. It has been shown that high carb diets are one of the main courses of pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes and also a fatty liver.
We are all individuals and some people can tolerate carbs better than others. The diet industry has been turned on its head and what we have had ingrained in us since the 80’s is that we should be eating a low fat and high carb diet. Because of this we now have a type 2 diabetes plague on our hands.
The way forward has been proven to be a high fat (good fats) and a low carb diet. As well as this is a keto diet which puts you into a state of ketosis. This is when your body starts to burn fat! To learn more about ketosis please click here.
