My Love For Watercolour
I wanted to share with you today my love for watercolour. At the beginning of my blog I will, I am sure to have mentioned that I have a first class honours degree in Art & Design. However, I’m pretty much self-taught so watercolours are still new to me but I fell in love with them all over again while filming on location recently.
Time On My Hands
You may or may not know but with filming there can be a lot of waiting around between takes so during these times I got my watercolours out. What was fantastic is that two of my “housemates” had a go too and they were completely new to it. They produced some fantastic work which I will share with you right now.
Aren’t these just fantastic. I really enjoyed helping others to be creative maybe it’s about time I did more of it. His partner got them framed for him and don’t they look amazing.
What I Love About Using Watercolour
Unlike a lot of watercolour artists, they will paint something they see; whereas I kind of paint something I see in my head and a lot of the time let the painting paint itself. I love the fact that watercolour reacts sometimes in ways you don’t expect it too and that mistakes sometimes can actually be blessings in disguise.
I will share with you some of the pieces that I painted while on location.
I would just like to say that my above work is for sale and are unframed.
Painting for me is quite cathartic but then so is anything I do which is creative. My friend Steve thoroughly loved having a go so why don’t you. You might be pleasantly surprised. I hope you have a go and appreciate my love for watercolour.
