Welcome to October’s Birchbox Contents
Well hello, I hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend because I did; I had my head stuck in another book for two days while surrounded by cheese scones. Anyway today I thought I would share with you my October’s Birchbox contents. I received it last week but didn’t open it until today because I wanted to share it with you guys.
What is Birchbox?
Now I know some of you are probably now sitting there thinking to yourself, “what the fuck is Birchbox?” well I’m going to tell you. For the cost of £12.95 a month I receive a fabulous reusable little box. I have to say at this point the boxes are very well made and furthermore they act like a little drawer. Very sturdy and very useful – I use mine for all sorts of things. The design is different every month too. Now inside the box, you will find a selection of good size samples of beauty products, sometimes a full-size one and sometimes a free gift, for example, a makeup brush etc. Now we all love free things don’t we – well I know I do. And finally, in addition, to the products you receive a guide as to what the products are and consequently other details about them.
In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Birchbox is working with CoppaFeel – the amazing charity with a mission to stamp out late detection of breast cancer. To help fight the good fight, they have included a CoppaFeel Shower Highjack Sticker in every single box so you know exactly what signs to look and feel for while checking your boobs in the sower. Plus, everyone has received the Anatomical Grab Your Melons Shower Gel – making it even easier for you to get hands-on while you lather up?
As for the rest of the box? This October the theme is Feeling Good – so we have been sent a box of tricks that will help you do just that. For starters, everyone has received a ModelCo treat to help update your makeup bag for the season ahead. Plus, there’s a Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash in every box – because it’s just as important to look after your complexion as the rest of your body!
The first product I will show you is the MEGALASH Mascara by ModelCo (RRP £16). Think of this as a high definition treatment for your lashes. The brush lifts and fans out each individual lash as it goes, coating them all with an intensely black pigment for a defined, lengthened, and volumised finish. HOW – Wriggle the mascara brush from the roots to the tips of your lashes and repeat if needed!

The second product is Pure Skin Face Wash by Balance Me (RRP £16). Wave goodbye to make-up and grime, without stripping your skin of moisture, with this 99% natural cleanser. Spruce knot extract helps to decongest while refreshing grapefruit and frankincense soothes and re-balances your complexion.
HOW Smooth over your face, neck, and closed eyes – massaging as you go. Rinse with warm water.
The third product is a Birchbox Exclusive it is a full-size of Grab Your Melons Shower Gel (RRP £1.50). What better time to look after yourself than in the shower? This zesty body wash cares for your skin and uplifts your mood so you’re all set! While you’re lathering up, take 5 minutes to CoppaFeel of your boobs – you’ll know exactly what to look and feel for with the help of your CoppaFeel Shower Hijack sticker.
HOW – Massage over damp skin, working into a later, then rinse away.
The next product is another Birchbox Exclusive. It is BB Cream Golden Glow Illuminator by Marcelle (RRP £25.50). Dewy skin doesn’t have to equal oily skin. In fact, this multitasking BB cream controls shine, evens skin tone, hydrates, and calms redness – while light-reflecting pigments add the perfect amount of glow.
HOW – Massage over damp skin, working into a lather, then rinse away.
The last product is Perk Up Dry Shampoo by Amika (RRP £20). This stuff is like a shot of espresso for your hair! It soaks up excess oil, delivers a shot of fresh fragrance, adds texture and hydrates and strengthens strands to give you that extra day in between hair washes. What’s not to love?
HOW – Shake then spray gently onto the roots of your hair. Massage with fingertips and style as usual.
Next month’s selection of beauty treats has been handpicked from the Vogue 100 Beauty Hall of Fame – chosen by Vogue Beauty Editors past and present!
As the months go by I will be using these products and going back to the previous months Birchbox contents and putting a small write up of each product as and when I used them and giving them a rating out of 5 so you know how I get on with them. I will let you know which ones are winners and which ones are losers.
