No Podcast Today
First of all my apologies for no podcast this week. It was my mothers 70th birthday this weekend and the family was celebrating – lots! Today’s post is all about how we need to make the most of each day.
A Drunken Time
Obviously, there was alcohol involved I mean this is a 70th. I think I drank enough vodka to keep my body preserved for at least 3 months. I did end up sleeping on the floor after sliding out of the chair – not my proudest moment but it made my daughter laugh.
There is also video evidence of me singing – badly! I don’t know why I do it. I can’t sing I have an awful singing voice but after a couple of vodkas, I think I am Madonna. It’s not big and it’s not clever. I am now on a mission to find and destroy all evidence of this episode – wish me luck.
I’m just not used to drinking anymore and it really doesn’t agree with me so I am seriously contemplating going tea total – she says. It was just family members and it was amazing.
You Only Have One Mum And Family
I don’t know why it is but you think that your Mum is going to live forever. Celebrating her 70th made me realise a lot of things. It made me realise just how much I love my Mum and also my family. I know this is going to be a bit deep but I am dreading the day she is no longer here and the same goes for the rest of my family. It gave me a kick up the ass shall we say about just how important they are to me.
Make The Most Of Each Day
We have one chance at this and we need to make the most of it. We need to treasure the time with our loved ones and we need to make the most of our time on this planet. Life is too short to have regrets. We need to grab every opportunity by the balls and go for it.
It’s quite a poignant time in my life. I am 50 next year and I can’t believe just how quick these years have gone by. I’m on a mission now to make every day count – every single second of every single day. I’ve got the next 30 plus years to make some wonderful memories and make them be the happiest and fullest I can.
When its time for me to pass over to the other side I’m going to have the biggest smile on my face knowing I lived my life and made a difference in it.
I’ve said this before, in fact, I said it this morning thinking about it. I’ve had a pretty crappy 50 years but I have every intention of changing that completely around.
Get That Bucket List Written
So what I would like you to do is take a couple of hours out and think about your life. Think about your past but not for long as it is just that in the past and can’t be changed. What can be changed though is your future and that starts right now! So get writing your bucket list, put down absolutely everything you want to do, try, achieve and experience and start taking steps to make them happen. We are here for such a short time so please don’t regret a single day.
I’m recovering today but you will be pleased to know that normal service will resume back tomorrow you lucky things.
A big thank you to hosts Rachael and Phil, Ollie and Bethan it was a wonderful night.
