New And Updated Edition
As promised I have re-edited my book It’s Not Rocket Science. When it was first released I was under a lot of pressure and time restrictions getting it out in time to coincide with the ITV documentary, The Fast Fix Clinic Diabetes.
In the original version I had colour graphs and photos and because of this, I wanted it to be on white paper and not cream. These two things pushed the publishing cost ridiculously high and meant that I had to sell the book at a lot higher price.
I was disappointed when I received it so thankfully have now changed it. The paper inside is now cream, the photos and charts are black and grey and the font is bigger. This has meant I have been able to reduce the retail price to £7.99 which is a lot better for everyone concerned.
I have also done the following:
- Spaced out the low carb recipes at the back a bit more making them clearer to read.
- I have included one of my largest and most popular blog posts (also a podcast). This makes the self-help section more thorough. I am very pleased about this because I wanted the book to address the person as a whole and not just about reversing type 2 diabetes.
- Updated the recommended reading section.
- Updated my books page and with images also and a few other bits and pieces.
The Kindle version has also been updated and is also cheaper too at a cost of £4.99. I am so pleased now that both these versions are a lot cheaper which means more people will now be able to have access to them.
Blurb from Amazon
I have lost a staggering 35lbs and a total of 58″ by taking part in ITV’s The Fast Fix: Diabetes Clinic. I accomplished this by going on a very low-calorie diet of 800 calories a day. I lived with 4 strangers for 4 weeks trying to reverse type 2 diabetes. I succeeded and this book gives you an account of my journey through this process.
Not only did I reverse type 2 diabetes I managed to reduce my fibromyalgia symptoms drastically. This book is not just about a diet it is aimed at improving your whole lifestyle and I write about the whole person not just about the food you eat but everything else you need to address too. It covers everything you need to know to set you on the right path of getting to your goal and being a better version of yourself.
I have been on a diet for most of my life and this is the only thing that has worked for me. It has changed my life in more ways than you can possibly imagine. I have gone from being a prisoner in my own body and home to going to the gym four times a week.
If someone told me last year that I will have lost 35lbs, 58″, and writing my own book about it I would have thought they needed a straightjacket. I know it is a cliche but if I can do all this you certainly can.
Hopefully, my book and my story will help you to change your life for the better too. In this edition, you will find two sections regarding self-help and how to move forward in life and change your life for the better.

Halfway through the book were a section of recipes. This threw me a bit as I thought I had come to the end and it was only by chance that I flicked through to the end of them and found a whole other section of the book i might otherwise have missed!
I really enjoyed reading Tracey’s story and I hope that she continues to write about her journey through controlling her weight, diabetes and fibromyalgia. She talked about studying to be a nutritionist and I really hope she does as she will have a greater understanding of what it is to be diabetic and the struggles we have with the current NHS guidelines on nutrition for the treatment of diabetes. We need more writers like Tracey Ward to share their stories and struggles. Diabetes is a devasting disease, it affects every part of your body. Type 2 patients are led to believe that it is a progressive disease that will only get worse over time, but the vlcd diet turns this on its head. It’s a lifelong commitment though, reversing your diabetes is one thing keeping it that way is another, but a life without diabetic meds and their own associated problems has to be worth it.

ITV’s The Fast Fix Documentary
For the people who don’t know about this book, it was written during and after my time in the ITV’s The Fast Fix Clinic Diabetes documentary. It has changed my life so significantly that I was compelled to write this book to be able to help others the way it has helped me.
This experience saved my life it really did. It gave me a huge kick up the backside and my mind and body the re-set it needed to move forward in life.
I am training to become a health and wellness coach which I will talk about more on my blog in due course. In the meantime I will be carrying on podcasting, writing books, painting and poetry.
As some of my readers already know I set up an online support group for people suffering from mental health issues and this is something that I am involved with 24/7 and have been since its launch over three years ago. This is a free service for people struggling with a variety of things.
A Darker Shade Of Blue Campaign
I am currently putting together an anthology of poetry written by people who suffer from these illnesses to help raise much-needed awareness. Again this will be something that I will talk about in future blog posts.
I hope you find the new and improved book helpful. As always any questions please leave a comment and I will get back to you when I can.
Have a great weekend
