It’s Too Hot
What are we like? The British and their obsession with the weather. We moan when it is raining and then we moan when it is too hot. I’m moaning because it is too hot. I’ve been feeling quite ropey since Monday and it wasn’t until I had a conversation with someone yesterday that I realised I’m having a fibro flare up because of the weather. I get them if I’m too cold but I think this is the first time it’s bothered me with the heat.
Fibro Flare Up
Can’t believe I didn’t realise what a muppet I am. Dizziness, nausea, sore joints, bad back, tingles, creepy crawly sensations on my skin, tiredness, migraine, sensitivity to sound and light, poor sleep, stiffness, louder tinnitus. The list goes on and on now it’s dawned on me (thank you Paul).
I need to take it easy for a few days and get my strength back. Just when you think you are in control of it then it turns around and bites you in the ass! It could be worse so I’m just going to have to ride it out and get better for next weekend because this hot mamma has a date and I don’t want to miss that!
Watch What I Eat
So I will have to watch what I eat over the next few days as I know comfort eating will be beckoning especially if my ankles and knees do one and the pain goes up. Like the saying goes you can’t pour from an empty cup. So fluids and meds at the ready and no gym for a few days. Also on standby will be one of my favourites; Exante diet meal replacement lemon pancakes. I adore these things especially with a drizzle of sugar-free butterscotch sauce. They are surprisingly filling too, in fact, I think I’m dribbling just thinking about them.
So no hour-long stints on the cross trainer for a few days but I will try and incorporate some bodyweight exercises as and when I can. Even if it’s a few calf raises while waiting for the kettle or a few squats but only if it doesn’t hurt! If it hurts stop. To be honest, I’ve got a feeling today is going to be very sedentary for me but I shall push myself as far as I can.
I’d be interested to know if any of you took up exercise when you started on Exante and if so what did you do before and what do you do now? Will also like to hear from any other Fibro Warriors and how you have been coping with flare-ups.
I’m Out Of Ketosis
For me, having a fibro flare up is a sign that I am not in ketosis at the minute as that definitely reduces my symptoms and that makes complete sense when I think about what I’ve had to eat over the past few days with my birthday. But, give myself a couple of days and I will be back on it.
