What Is Birchbox?
Allow me to introduce you to Birchbox and my February’s Birchbox Review. Now I know some of you are probably now sitting there thinking to yourself, “what the hell is Birchbox?” well I’m going to tell you. For the cost of £12.95 a month I receive another fabulous reusable little box full of beauty goodies.
I have to say at this point the boxes are very well made and furthermore they act like a little drawer. In addition, these boxes are very sturdy and very useful – I use mine for all sorts of things. The design is different every month too.
Now inside the box, you will find a selection of good size samples of beauty products, sometimes a full-size one and sometimes a free gift, for example, a makeup brush etc. Now we all love free things don’t we – well I know I do.
And finally, in addition, to the products you receive a guide as to what the products are and consequently other details about them. So sit back, relax and read my February’s Birchbox review.
February’s Birchbox Review
The box for me this month says “nostalgia”! Back in time to the 80’s; these boxes themselves are fab. This months box is entitled “True Beauty is Timeless”. Beauty through the decades.
This month, Birchbox is throwing it back to the beauty of bygone eras to celebrate our favourite timeless trends and reminisce about some classic and – more importantly – having fun! So here are the five beauty treats they’ve handpicked to help you bring the past into your present…
What Is In My February’s Birchbox
THE BEAUTY CROP – FULL-SIZE! BIRCHBOX EXCLUSIVE!
Eyeshadow trio in Love You So Latte RRP £7.00
Between layers of mascara and heavy slicks of a liner, there’s no doubt that the 80’s were all about the eyes. In fact, the smokier the better! Now it’s time to bring that drama into the 21st century with this collection of eyeshadows. Packed with coffee extracts to brighten, use all three for a soft, smokey finish or individually to add subtle depth and definition.
MODELCO – FULL-SIZE!
Green Concealer RRP £14.00
When we think of the beauty trends of the 80’s there’s one thing that springs to mind – colour! This concealer might look like something reserved for your best Adam Ant impression but, in fact, the green counteracts redness for a more even complexion. just blend a small amount onto any areas of your skin that need a little toning down, then apply your usual concealer or foundation on top.
PERCY & REED
Quite Frankly Flawless Finishing Polish RRP £10.00
Whether you were rocking a gravity-defying perm or (please, no…) a mullet, hair was serious business in the 80’s. Today, this lightweight styler is packed with horse chestnut to keep your ‘do in place without it stiff or greasy, and sunflower wax for a gentle injection of moisture. Just work a small amount through hair to smooth and define your finished style and add shine.
COCONUT MILK HAIR MASK RRP £32.00
Teasing your ‘do into throwback styles might be fun but, between the hairspray and backcombing, your hair will likely be left in need of a little TLC. Enter this nourishing treatment designed to repair and restructure. Apply generously to damp hair after shampooing, leave for up to 5 minutes and then rinse away. The max of fatty acids and vitamins will leave your strands soft, silky and protected (even coloured hair).
LAQA & CO.
B’Lighter RRP £12.00
Glowing skin is a look that transcends the decades – and this creamy combo offers just that in one easy-to-use formula. The peachy pigment contains just the right amount of shimmer to add a soft glow to cheekbones or build for a full-on pop of colour on cheeks. We think it works best when applied using your fingertips – just blend for seamless radiance or layer for a more intense hue.
