Happy Monday Everyone
Today I am so pleased to be able to give you some exciting news. The Harrogate Advertiser are now running the article on myself and my campaign to raise awareness to Mental Health issues. This includes the support group I run and also regarding the book I am trying now to put together.
As some of you may know I am putting together a book of poetry. The poems are from people suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD etc. They will all be published to bring more awareness to these conditions/illnesses. You don’t have to be an expert poet as this is not a competition and everyone can donate a poem; so please do. My intention is to give this book the justice it deserves and to publish it as a hardback. To help me do this I have set up a GoFundMe page on which you can make a donation. Any money left will go directly to the MIND charity.
I am also pleased to announce I am going to be selling some products to also help raise awareness. There are now currently in my shop T-shirts with my artwork on. These pieces were created when I was in my last year at University when I was suffering from post-natal depression and was homeless due to domestic violence. So all these images are from the heart.
MIND and REFUGE
The charities that I support are MIND and REFUGE. I was reading an article this weekend how the funding for safe houses has really suffered and they cannot offer places to many women and are having to turn them away. This causes them to have to go back to the violent environment and live in fear until something becomes available. I’ve been on the receiving end of this and I know how these women and men feel. It is such a brave thing in the first place to ask for help but when they have to get refused they must feel completely desperate, lonely and frightened. This is something that desperately needs addressing.
Thank you for reading and thank you for all your support.
