So Far So Good
Yes! Day 1 is over! So far so good.. we are now on day 2 of 28 of the Join Me And Lose Weight For Good Plan. Bring it on! I always find the first day the worst one then it gets even better after day 3 for me. But I did it – sorry “we” did it. Give yourself a pat on the back. To be honest I wasn’t feeling particularly hungry when I woke up this morning either which is fantastic.
I had 2 cups of black coffee before picking my daughter up from the train station and have just had my first exante meal replacement shake of the day. My first shake I try and have at 10am as it then staggers throughout the day better and it also leaves a longer fasting time from the previous night. You don’t have to wait until 10am if you don’t want to it’s completely personal choice I just prefer it that way. I try and have my shakes, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, and the last one 8pm. I find having the last two closer together is better for me as it is the night time when I feel hunger.

One day in and I’ve already lost weight woohoo! That’s what I like to see; didn’t I tell you it works quickly. There you go listen to your Aunty Tracey now. I was 13st 6lb on Sunday and I am now 13st 3lb and still have 6 days to go for the first official weigh in figures.
I mentioned yesterday about liking the “empty” feeling well that isn’t the right word to describe it. This morning I was laying in bed after the alarm went off and I had “that” feeling. The best way to describe it is “lighter”. I actually feel lighter inside my body. I don’t have that heavy bloated feeling and that feels amazing. In fact I’d forgotten how good it feels. When you have that sensation it makes what you are doing a whole lot easier and more pleasurable.
I am a closet comfort eater. I’ve near enough managed to take control of it this year but it is still a learning curve. 48 years of bad eating habits doesn’t go away overnight so don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get on top of it after a month. There is a lot going on there especially on an emotional level. I will cover this in more detail in my book which is due out next month; don’t worry I will let you know when you can buy it.
Getting back to comfort eating in the past I just never seemed to have that “it’s time to stop eating” ability. Like a cow; yes a cow I could graze all day! If there was an olympic sport for eating crap food and lots of it I would have won the gold medal ten times over.
Chocolate Is Not Your Friend
One chocolate bar wasn’t enough at night I would have a Twix, Topic, Picnic, Snickers, Mars my fridge would have a draw just for this kind of stuff. I would buy fresh bread everyday, dairy lea, and that was a snack… that’s all it wasn’t even my main meal. At night I would have a massive shepherds pie followed by apple crumble and custard and then the treats came out. I would then go to bed and watch a film but I’d be sucking on a whole bag of sherbet lemons! Unbelievable isn’t it? I actually feel ill just thinking about it now. But it was a constant shoving of food into my mouth. I didn’t stop until I was unable to put anything else in my mouth.
Don’t Fell The Gaps In Your Life With Food
Why on earth do they call if comfort eating because it doesn’t leave you feeling comfortable at all? Well it dawned on me that the full feeling is the feeling you are trying to get. That feeling of fullness and contentment because you life is lacking in other areas so you have to fill the gaps with food.
The problem is however that the feeling I have just described doesn’t make you feel like that for long. You start hating yourself for what you have just done, you start beating yourself up for being such a pig and then to make yourself feel better you eat again. You get into a vicious circle and one meal just follows onto another meal and another and that becomes your life. But… that isn’t living. We need to smash that vicious circle up and consciously. We need to start eating to live and not living to eat. That is a huge difference and an extremely positive and healthy one. As I said it won’t happen overnight but by following me and joining in with me on this we will break that first chain together.
