My First Book
As most of you know I published my first book of poetry back in 2016. Why Rainbows May Cry was a hugely cathartic experience for me from the start to the end. I never intended to publish this as a book; the poetry was a way for me to express the emotions that I was experiencing and feeling at the time. The poems are about love and loss and the nightmare that is the world of online dating. I seemed to go from one disaster to another and the best way for me to deal with it was through poetry.

This is a book for anyone who has lived through the experience of loss, love and infatuation – or desire, whether satisfied or not – a stunning collection of poems. The reader, however, needs to be able to cope with powerful emotions and strong language. This beautifully produced book brings us into the world of dating sites and is based on the author’s experiences in 2016. Further – and perhaps most significant of all – these poems will resonate with anyone who has been betrayed, deserted or let down, not just by a lover, but also by parents, grown-up children, family or friends. The back of the book accurately describes this collection as “a complete roller-coaster of emotions” – it can also feel like riding in a speeding truck in which the brakes and steering have failed.
The language and style are pared-down and simple – here, the emotion IS the poem. And that strange modern world-within-a-world of dating sites is all here: elation, betrayal, bewilderment, rage, bitterness, self-questioning, the waiting (with your stomach in a knot), the wild hope of “maybe this time…”. This is the journey of a courageous woman wanting to love and be loved – in good faith. Very few men have the courage to make themselves so vulnerable; fewer still are brave enough to write about their vulnerability. The author calls her book a “means of healing”; many readers will find it is exactly that. For myself, I hope that she soon – very soon – publishes more poems on her personal experiences.

My Second Book
Rediscover Who You Really Are And Where You Want To Be – Using My List Of 111 Questions
This book was initially created for a close friend who suffers from bi-polar, depression and anxiety and had lost his way in life. Unfortunately, when people struggle with mental health issues you can get bogged down and become extremely unfocused and basically can’t see the wood for the trees. This happened to my friend.
I suggested that he wrote a list of things that made him feel happy etc but because of the place he was in emotionally, understandably he couldn’t focus on thinking of any questions to ask himself for him to start this process. Subsequently, that gave birth to this book.
The Answer And The Power Is Within
It’s not an answer to all your problems because the answer is within you; all this book will do is make you think about different areas in your life. There is nothing too scary in there it is just a starting block to get you thinking of ways to start the process of moving forward and taking back control of your life. Moving forward in a way where you can be more pro-active rather than reactive.
Importance Of Self-Care
This is so important I do this with myself all the time; I have a huge list of questions which I review on a very regular basis and I have found it a very positive thing to dip in and out of and hopefully, you will too. On another note I know there are people who just like writing lists and lists of lists; my lovely daughter-in-law and I are both guilty of this.
Included at the back of the book is also space for a bucket list and also anxiety grounding exercises, and a list of ways to apply the important act of self-care.
I hope it helps people going through a difficult time to re-focus their thoughts even for a short time.
You can find this book on Amazon and is also available for a quick delivery through Amazon Prime. To find the book please click here.

Coming Soon – A Darker Shade of Blue
“Mental Health Awareness Poetry Anthology” I set up an online support group approximately 3 years ago to support people in my area with various mental issues and also for people living with or who have loved ones that suffer from mental health issues. Subsequently, I have found writing and poetry a cathartic way of expressing my feelings. I am in the process of putting together a book of poetry written by these people and others that are going through this. It is to increase awareness of mental health issues in this country. A staggering 16 people commit suicide in this country and that is 16 too many. It needs to be talked about and talked about now.
